Chinese Metaphysics : Cosmic Trinity

The cosmic trinity is made up of Heaven Luck (Tian yun), Man Luck (Ren yun) and Earth Luck (Di yun):

		Heaven Luck Heaven luck is what you are born with. We analyse this using BaZi. You may not be able to change its course but you may be able to alter the outcome. For example, if you are walking down a long road and see mud puddles ahead, you naturally sidestep them instead of walking right into the puddles. When you foresee potential opportunity coming up in your luck pillars, you harness your saddle and ride on the wind of success, whatever it may be. For example, if you are aware that the potential of meeting your life partner is coming up in your luck or annual pillar, you make an effort to socialise so as not to miss the opportunity of meeting him or her. Once that luck pillar is passed, the opportunity is gone until the next cycle. Time does not wait for anyone.

		Earth Luck Earth luck is the essence of Feng Shui. It is how to use the energy and forces of nature within our environment to support our goals and everyday activities. Our environment consists of the external environment or the outside of our living space, as well as the internal environment or our homes and offices. That is why we have to study Luan Tou (Form School) as much as, if not more than, Xuan Kong Da Gua (Profound Void 64 Hexagram), BaZhai (Eight Mansions) and Fei Xing (Flying Stars) – Fei Xing being a diagnostic tool used to analyse the current condition of a home’s internal environment – to effectively practise Feng Shui. Effective and knowledgeable Feng Shui masters use Luan Tou, Xuan Kong Da Gua and BaZhai to effectively remedy their clients’ situations.

		Man Luck Man luck is the effort we put into shaping our lives. By taking initiatives, by persevering in difficult times, by our good deeds and by our positive attitude, we determine how our lives will be. This is the aspect over which we have full control.
